For everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved. How then can they call on the one they have not believed in and how can they believe in the one whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them? And how can they preach unless they are sent. “How Beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news! Romans 10:13-15
When you hear the word missions, what comes to mind? The first thing that comes to my mind are missionaries. The people that feel called to go around the world to tell others about Jesus. The ones we pledge our money to and pray for. As I was thinking about this word missions, I realized it is not just about those who go to other countries, but it is also for us here in America. The word Missons come from the root word that means “sent”. If we know Jesus, we have been sent. Everywhere we go we are to be shining the light and love of Jesus to our nations through our actions and our words. Can you remember who shared Jesus with you? What if they hadn’t? Who would not know about Jesus today because no one ever told you? We must share Jesus! We cannot keep Him to ourselves. If we do not go, they will not hear, if they do not hear, they cannot go, if they cannot go others will never hear about Him, and…. We won’t have beautiful feet!
